Description

A bitter brew of witchcraft and vengeance.

Newlyweds, Daniel and Paige Stanford move into the scenically decaying mansion that was Daniel’s childhood home. They have barely begun to unpack when a diseased and half-blind old woman turns up on their doorstep.

Soon enough the house is in chaos–broken clocks chiming in the dead of night; a mysterious red-headed girl appearing at odd moments; not to mention the strange transformations in the attic suite that was built to spec from The Masque of the Red Death. There is also the small matter of a series of murders of ginger-haired girls, their faces disfigured by red sores.

They must find out who the old woman really is and what she knows about the horrific killings. Paige learns the old woman’s secrets and about the terrible hold she has on Daniel.

2 reviews for Red Menace (by Jenny Ashford)

  1. Bone-chilling
The main arc of Red Menace follows the increasingly panicked heroine as she struggles to make sense of the maelstrom she has unwittingly walked into. Well written, fresh, and exciting, Ashford spins a beguiling little tale with more than a passing nod to the old masters. Ultimately, it is a bone-chilling story of witchcraft and revenge which, as we all know, is a dish best served cold. Great stuff. ~ Chris Saunders, Amazon Reviewer

  2. Deliciously Creepy
This is a deliciously creepy book. This is one of those rare horror novels that leaves That Sound in my head, do you know the one? Like a chord on a pipe organ, but it just goes on and on, undiminished, for days. When I started reading ti and started hearing that sound, I just knew I had to have this book. ~ Erin Lale, Amazon Reviewer
